Customer testimonial: Thierry Roulette, Aqualung CIO

Aqualung, an internationally renowned company specializing in diving equipment, recently faced a major challenge: the homogenization of its ERP system following several acquisitions. Prior to this transition, the company was using around ten different ERP systems, a complex legacy of its multiple takeovers.
‍ThierryRoulette, Aqualung's CIO, shares his experience of working with Infortive to recruit a Transition Manager, Project Director, to steer this strategic program.

Why did you call on Infortive for this project?

We had a specific need: to unify our ERP system using Oracle Netsuite, a major task that required specialized project management expertise. I didn't want to work with an ESN with their way of doing things, so I wanted to work either directly with a freelancer or with a firm like Infortive. I'd already met Infortive's director, Pierre Fauquenot, so I naturally turned to them to find the right profile for the job.

What convinced you to choose Infortive?

I was looking for a flexible, efficient and personalized solution. Infortive promised an expert profile for a defined period of time, perfectly suited to our needs, in a very short timeframe.

What were the project's main challenges?

More than just technical skills in Oracle Netsuite, we were looking for a true project management leader. The Transition Manager has already demonstrated excellent management skills, a strong ability to negotiate and work with our partners, and a complete mastery of subcontractor management. He has also already brought value to discussions with partners and the system integrator, and to the contractualization and negotiation aspect, which was exactly what I was looking for.

How did the Transition Manager rise to the challenge?

The success of Transition Manager Olivier Renault in this complex and strategic project for Aqualung is not only due to his ability to adapt quickly or his proven leadership in project management. His proactive approach to understanding and mastering Oracle Netsuite, despite an initial non-specific expertise in this technology, was a key element.
Olivier demonstrated great open-mindedness, committing himself fully to learning and assimilating the specificities of our ERP tool.
His success lay not only in the technical management of the project, but also in his ability to federate teams, to dialogue effectively with partners and system integrators, and to negotiate with pragmatism and insight. His ability to focus on technical detail while maintaining a strategic overview has enabled him to overcome obstacles with agility, and has led to significant advances in the project.
What really sets the Transition Manager apart is his working philosophy: he commits to the project not for a fleeting success but for a lasting, positive impact on Aqualung, ensuring that the solutions implemented are beneficial in the long term.

What did you think of the process proposed by Infortive?

The process was very efficient. After a detailed presentation of our context and expectations, Béatrice, the Account Manager, quickly understood our needs and proposed candidates in line with our project. Infortive's responsiveness and relevance were much appreciated.
Working with Infortive has been a real asset for Aqualung. The recruitment of the Interim Manager as interim project director enabled us to successfully initialize an important project for the company, so that all the conditions were in place to ensure the project's success. This was made possible by a rigorous selection process and a personalized approach to the recruitment of interim management profiles.
